About the Video

Weight training is an important element for every road cyclist in countering the tremendous strain placed on their musculoskeletal systems from the sheer physical demands of training, racing and the postural stress from the rider position on the bicycle. Effective weight training programs for the
road cyclist must contain strategies to optimize performance on the bicycle while minimizing muscle hypertrophy. In addition, equalizing the muscle
strength imbalances derived from the body's position on the bicycle will be addressed. Optimal outcomes in a road cyclist's weight training program, is to produce the most efficient pedal stroke possible while transferring maximum energy to the pedal, thus producing the least amount of stress in the musculoskeletal system.
